Greater Fayetteville Chamber Debuts Downtown Development Web Portal

FayettevilleOnDeck.com, a new web portal, was debuted by the Greater Fayetteville Chamber to serve as a resource for information on development in Downtown Fayetteville. This site is a portal to find information on bids, requests for proposal, construction, road closures, dates and deadlines…. All things relating to the new ballpark, hotel redevelopment and other important development downtown.

The site is sponsored by the Greater Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce, and features a video walk-through and flyover of the new park, renderings of the stadium’s appearance, minutes from the City baseball committee meetings, press releases, a construction timeline and other pertinent information.

“We wanted to help our members, residents and other local businesses be able to find real-time information on the redevelopment efforts downtown, specifically the baseball stadium and the Prince Charles Hotel, but also including other initiatives,” said Christine Michaels, Chamber President & CEO. “The portal is a one-stop shop for those who need access to that information, and the best part is, it’s all in one place!” She added that various segments of the website enable companies to enter into the bidding process, see the timeline of construction activity, keep up with City meetings and find important contact information.

“We thank our contributors to the site – the Fayetteville Astros, the City of Fayetteville, Prince Charles Holdings and Barton Malow, general contractor for the stadium. They are providing us with vital information to help our businesses learn about opportunities and manage through the changes which will take place,” Michaels added.

Chamber members who opt in to a special email list will get notified when new information is posted on the site, while others can visit the site 24/7 to get the latest information. Inquiries can be directed to FayettevilleOnDeck@gmail.com.

Periodic update meetings are planned to let the local businesses know of new developments, and subcommittees have been formed. A “Baseball for Business” group will research best practices in communities which have downtown ballparks; and another will attend baseball committee meetings to have open dialogue on the projects. Anyone wishing to participate should contact Michaels at the FayettevilleOnDeck@gmail.com email address.
